The photography for the “My Berries” brand was a challenging and altogether rewarding photography assignment. The Sunshine Coast company were rebranding, so the full day shoot occurred on location at Bribie Island where the produce is packed and packaged. The product is a mix of strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Frozen Mango and mixed bags all grown and packed on the Sunshine Coast.
We received the art direction and creative brief from an advertising agency based out of Melbourne, Australia. The photoshoot was a full day of styling and shooting with two photographers involved. A split location studio was set up and whilst one photographer shot the pure product shots, the second photographer worked on the lifestyle and advertising images.
The lifestyle and food advertising photographs involved a series of coloured backdrops and hands reaching in, berries flying through the air, smoothies being made etc etc. The professional photography lighting on site was altered for every colour and image.
The key elements of this photography brief were the challenges it presented and the degree of post production and editing. During the food photography, bags were packed and repacked to highlight the best quality products. Berries bruise fairly easily - but these berries were FROZEN. So they were defrosting very quickly, creating condensation in the opaque bags. The Fresh ingredients stained anything they came into contact with - so a degree of patience and speed was needed on the day.
The result once again of top quality product photography is better sales results for the suppliers - this product can now be found in supermarkets right around Australia.
